KUWAIT, Nov 27 (KUNA) --

1965 -- Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah is sworn in as Kuwaiti Amir at parliament.
1966 -- Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah inaugurates Kuwait University, which included science, arts, as well as education and women's colleges. The university accommodated 418 students and 31 staff members at that time.
1990 -- The United Nations (UN) hands four Kuwaiti documents including testimonies for killings, looting, pillage and torturing committed by Iraqi occupation forces in Kuwait.
1990 -- A Kuwaiti public delegation of 90 figures begin extensive tours in more than 100 capitals, to explain the Kuwaiti people's viewpoints of the Iraqi occupation, and the Iraqis' horrible practices against Kuwaitis.
1999 -- An Amiri decree is issued to amend the administrative division of the State of Kuwait, stipulating introducing a sixth governorate named "Mubarak Al-Kabeer". Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Sabah was appointed governor of the new province.
2004 -- The Kuwaiti national team wins the fifth Gulf tennis championship held in Doha.
2005 -- A Kuwaiti surgeon successfully conducts an unprecedented stomach cancer surgery for a 56-year-old woman.
2006 -- Tareq Al-Qallaf wins a golden medal in an Asian fencing championship in Kuala Lumpur.
2008 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah A-Salem Al-Sabah opens the regional bureau of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) at the headquarters of the Arab Towns Organization in Shuwaikh area.
2013 -- Kuwait, in coordination with UNESCO, returns smuggled artifacts to Iraq.
2016 -- The Environment Public Authority signs a cooperation agreement with the UN Environment Program as part of Kuwait's commitment to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
2019 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signs a loan agreement worth KD 9 million with Uzbekistan for an infrastructure project there.
2019 -- Kuwait chairs the 22nd session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the World Heritage Convention. (end) (end) mt
