KUWAIT, Sept 22 (KUNA) -- 1938 -- The first traffic ticket is issued, signed by the police chief, Ghanim Sagr Al-Ghanim.
1949 -- The Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inks an accord granting the American Independent Oil Company concessions to explore crude oil and gas for 60 years on the islands of Kubbar, Um Al-Maradem and Garu, as well as in surrounding territorial waters.
2012 -- Kuwait wins the 22nd GCC water games championship held in Bahrain, bagging 52 gold medals.
2013 -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) distributes food and other necessary items to some 4,000 families affected with floods in Um Al-Qura in Al-Jazirah region, central Sudan.
2015 -- Kuwait donates USD 15 million to support the UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, to educate half a million Palestinians.
2017 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) inks an agreement, whereby lending Tanzania KD four million (USD 13.6 million) to restore and expand Zanzibar Hospital. (end) rk
