KUWAIT, April 22 (KUNA) --

1969 -- The first issue of Saad Magazine for children was issued.

1980 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a decree regulating supervision over precious metals and stones.

1990 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed an order establishing the National Council to replace the National Assembly, or parliament. The new body consisted of 75 members -- 50 elected and 25 appointed. It was dissolved on August 1, 1992.

2000 -- The Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) approved, during a meeting in Moscow, Russia, membership of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

2001 -- Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) added around 210,000 barrels to its daily production after opening of a gathering center in Manageesh Area, west of Kuwait.

2003 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a decree of the GCC unified custom law.

2010 -- Faihan Al-Arbeed, a pioneering Kuwaiti actor, passed away at age of 69.

2016 -- Kuwait signed an international climate agreement. A ceremony was held at the UN Headquarters to mark the agreement's signing and ratification of over 165 countries after representatives of 195 nations approved the Paris climate treaty in December 2015. (end) ah.bs
