KUWAIT, March 21 (KUNA) -- 1998 -- Kuwaiti Ports Authority set up, for the first time, a custom zone at Doha Port, allowing investors from neighboring countries to exhibit goods at the port to increase commercial exchanges between Kuwait and regional countries.
1999 -- Kuwait's Cabinet approved a bill, tabled by the Ministry of Information, on protection of copy as a mainstay of the cultural development of the country.
2000 -- The National Assembly approved a bill setting April 1 as beginning of the State's fiscal year instead of July 1.
2002 -- Kuwait was officially accepted as a new member of the International Council for Bird Preservation, during a meeting held in Kuwait.
2004 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issued decree 77/2004 for establishment of the Voluntary Work Center that aims at carrying out voluntary projects for service of the society and protection of the environment.
2012 -- Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) inaugurated first electronic library, specialized in oil affairs.
2012 -- Kuwaiti shooter Sara Al-Hawwal won gold medal in women individuals' trap shooting competitions at launch of the Arab Shooting Championship, hosted by Kuwait, and held on sidelines of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's International Shooting Grand Prix. (end) gta
