KUWAIT, Jan 20 (KUNA) --

1962 -- Kuwait Amir Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah opened the first session of the Constituent Assembly, which was made of 20 members and 11 ministers who had a mandate of approving a Constitution which organized the ruling system, rights and duties of citizens.
2004 -- Al-Qurain Martyrs Museum opened to show heroism of Kuwaitis while resisting Iraqi occupying forces and a testament of national unity during Iraq's 1990-91 invasion and occupation.
2008 -- The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training opened its Construction Training College building in South Sabahiya. The 14,000-square-meter building could house 1,400 students.
2009 -- The World Bank opened an office in Kuwait to further promote bilateral cooperation.
2012 -- Kuwait National Team won the Kuwait 2nd athletic championship for the disabled with 15 gold medals, 23 silver and 21 bronze.
2020 -- Dr. Waddah Al-Rifae was selected the best tumor surgeon in Washington D.C. for 2019.
2021 -- Adel Al-Majed, President of Kuwait Banking Association, was named the Arab Banking Personality of 2020 by the Beirut-based Union of Arab Banks. (end) bs
