KUWAIT, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- 1960 -- Kuwait Municipality distributed residential plots to citizens in South Shuwaikh.
1962 -- Al-Rawdatain running water project completed.
1964 -- Kuwait Building and construction Company was established.
2001 -- The Ministry of Interior inaugurated the DNA identification laboratory, the first in the Middle East at the time.
2001 -- Kuwait Olympic Committee inked with the Qatari Olympic Committee and the Bahraini Youth and Sports Authority a memo, allowing athletes in a GCC country to play in any of the Council member states.
2008 -- George Washington University granted His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah "the President Medal," honoring his long service for Kuwait and its people.
2012 -- Kuwait won the "the electronic government shield," granted by an affiliate organization of the Arab League. (end) mb
