KUWAIT, June 19 (KUNA) --

1960 -- The Amir Sheikh Abdullah Alآ­Salem Alآ­Sabah issued a law regulating the traffic court, which specializes in looking into traffic violations.
1960 -- The Commercial Bank of Kuwait was established.
1961 -- Kuwait was declared an independent Arab State.
1962 -- Kuwait celebrated its first National Day and the Amir, Sheikh Abdullah Alآ­Salem Alآ­Sabah, delivered a speech. A military parade was held to celebrate the occasion.
1991 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Alآ­Ahmad Alآ­Jaber Alآ­Sabah issued an Amiri Decree establishing the Martyrs Bureau, affiliated to the Amiri Diwan and aimed to honor the national martyrs.
2000 -- Kuwait and Bahrain allowed Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) citizens to enter the two countries, using ID cards, instead of passports.
2004 -- The new headquarters of Kuwait Lawyers Association was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Alآ­Ahmad Alآ­Jaber Alآ­Sabah.
2004 -- A contract for constructing Jaber Stadium was signed.
2004 -- Cairo University honored the Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Alآ­Ahmad Alآ­Jaber Alآ­Sabah, for his initiative of offering an annual prize for the best three graduation projects.
2005 -- Abdulkareem Hilal Al-Jehaidli, a former MP, died at the age of 74.
2007 -- Kuwaiti Second Secretary in Tehran Mohammad Alآ­Z'ebi was attacked by several assailants as he left work. The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry summoned Iranian Ambassador Ali Jannati and delivered to him an official document of protest over the incident.
2009 - The Amir Sheikh Sabah Alآ­Ahmad Alآ­Jaber Alآ­Sabah opened the new Amiri Airport at Kuwait International Airport.
2011 -- Health Minister Dr. Hilal Alآ­Sayer signed a cooperation agreement with a Canadian institute to develop health services.
2011 -- The Cabinet approved a decree assigning board members of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
2011 -- The Kuwaiti inventor Sadeq Kassem won four gold medals at an international exhibition held in the US.
2016 -- National Assembly approved a bill on amendment of law 42/1978 concerning sport entities. (end) aa
