KUWAIT, May 18 (KUNA) --

1979 -- Qadsia SC won Kuwait Amir Football Cup after beating Kazma SC 2-1.
1980 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a decree regarding maritime trade law, which barred non-registered vessels to carry Kuwaiti flag.
1988 -- Two persons were killed when a booby-trapped car exploded near Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) headquarters in downtown Kuwait city.
2003 -- Kadhma, the first Kuwaiti civilian airplane, landed at Baghdad International Airport to end a suspension of flights that lasted for 13 years following Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. The plane was loaded with medical supplies for the Iraqi people.
2010 -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun decorated Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah with the National Order of the Cedar at a ceremony at the Republican Palace in Beirut.
2014 -- Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) received crude oil tanker "Derwaza." 2015 -- Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) signed a contract to build a power station at Ahmadi Refinery to produce 240 megawatt.
2017 -- Kuwaiti activist Maali Al-Asousi won UAE's Arab Hope Makers award for her philanthropic activities.
2018 -- State of Kuwait presented to UN Security Council a draft resolution designed to provide protection for the Palestinian civilians living in occupied territories, including Gaza Strip. The draft resolution called for sending an international protection mission to Palestine, and ending the Israeli siege on Gaza Strip. (end) bs
