KUWAIT, Jan 18 (KUNA)

2003 -- Kuwait National Museum opened the Planetarium, Boom Al-Muhallab and the Traditional Village which depicted a comprehensive panorama of Kuwait history before 1940s.
2009 -- The United Nations House opened in the State of Kuwait, consisting of offices of five UN agencies.
2012 -- Bayt Abdullah Children Hospice opened to help control pain and associated symptoms in children.
2016 -- Al-Qurain Cultural Festival began activities to mark selection of Kuwait as the Islamic Cultural Capital 2016.
2016 -- Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghunaim, head of the Center for Research and Studies on Kuwait, won King Faisal Prize for Islamic Studies.
2018 -- Kuwait Ministry of Health announced success of transplantation of three heart arteries by using a robot.
2018 -- Kuwait national team won His Highness the Amir's international shooting championship, bagging seven gold medals, two silver and one bronze.
2018 -- Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) received an award, in a ceremony in Dubai, UAE, for the best exploration and production company for 2017. The award was granted by International Finance.
2019 -- Kuwait handed over USD 9.1 million to a number of UN agencies to support the humanitarian situation in Syria.
2021 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah accepted resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah and instructed his government to act as care-taker until formation of a new cabinet. (end) bs
