1973 -- Nasser Abdullatif Al-Essa, one of Kuwait's renowned traditional dhow captains, passed away at 84.
1979 -- The Public Warehousing Company was established with the aim of providing storage areas for lease.
1986 -- Kuwaiti oil tanker "Al-Fintas" is attacked at sea, 35 nautical miles from Al-Khafji in southern Kuwait, causing a fire on one of its storage tanks.
1990 -- Kuwait was elected Deputy Chair of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the 43rd United Nations General Assembly session in Vienna.
1992 -- Kuwaiti female actress, Aisha Al-Ibrahim, passed away at the age of 48. Regarded a pioneer amongst women actors, she participated in more than 37 theatre and television drama productions.
1993 -- The United Nations Special Committee for the demarcation of the Kuwaiti-Iraqi border was dissolved after completing its mission.
1998 -- Kuwait gains the support of International Legal Network on the Internet members to host the organization's regional center.
2000 -- Chairman of the Environmental Public Authority Dr. Mohammed Al-Saraawi was elected as an independent judge in a panel made up of GCC representatives to supervise the Ford Award for the preservation of the environment with the support of the International Nature Fund.
2000 -- The Cabinet approves a security project to be implemented in Kuwaiti regional waters with the aim of stopping infiltrators and drug traffickers who try to enter Kuwait by sea.
2001 -- Health Minister Dr. Mohammed Al-Jarallah inaugurated the e-file project across healthcare clinics in Kuwait to replace hardcopy patient medical files.
2004 -- Kuwait's national handball team wins the ninth Youth Handball Tournament held in Hyderabad, India, after emerging victorious from the final against South Korean in a 26-24 score line.
2006 -- Jassem Mohammad Al-Saqer, an influential figure in Kuwait's political and economic development, passed away at the age of 88.
2006 -- Sanebil Al-Khair Charitable Society was established.
2008 -- The Constitutional Court, headed by Justice Rashed Al-Hammad, rules for the annulment of the National Assembly membership of lawmakers Mubarak Al-Waalan and Abdullah Mehdi Al-Ajmi, who were replaced by Askar Al-Enezi and Saadoun Hammad for the fourth and fifth constituencies, respectively. This comes after contestations of the 2008 parliamentary elections were filed.
2010 -- The Ministry of Interior issued a statement banning illegal gatherings due to their impact on national unity.
2018 -- Kuwait Oil Company (OIC) announced historic success of producing 500 million cubic feet per day of natural gas in the first quarter of the 2018/19 fiscal year, and around 175,000 barrel per day of light crude oil. (end) mb
