KUWAIT, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- 1914 -- Kuwait's seventh Ruler, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Kabeer, orders the hoisting of a red flag bearing the word "Kuwait" in white. The flag was used until November 1961.
1933 -- The nation's first electricity company, Kuwait Electricity Company, was founded, continued to operate until 1951.
1959 -- A decree was issued identifying nationals as those who have lived in the country since/before 1920.
1959 -- Kuwait Today, the official newspaper issued its first edition, which includes nationality, passport, and residence laws.
1966 -- The Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues a decree on constituencies for parliamentary elections.
1997 -- Sport clubs, Araby, Kuwait, Salmia, and Kazma sign joint sport cooperation document to boost cooperation and coordination among clubs and their activities.
2006 -- Kuwait's national handball team clinches gold medal at the Asian Games in Doha.
2009 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah opens the 30th GCC summit in Bayan Palace. The summit touched on the establishment of the Gulf power grid.
