KUWAIT, May 14 (KUNA) -

1921 -- Kuwait's ruler, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, calls on businessmen to donate for establishing Al-Ahmadiya school, assigning Sheikh Youssef Bin Issa Al-Qinaie as its manager.
1961 -- Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues law banning unlicensed weapons.
1963 -- Kuwait's membership in the United Nations was accepted after the Security Council reviewed its application, presented on November 30, 1961. Kuwait became member number 111 at the UN. Later, Kuwait began joining UN agencies.
1964 -- The Public Authority of Administering Shuaiba Industrial Zone was established for utilizing oil and natural gas.
1996 -- The National Assembly agrees to draft a law committing the government to establish at least one mobile telephone company.
2007 - Kuwait win the position of president of Asian Judo Federation by Obaid Al-Enizi getting 27 votes in the Union's general assembly election.
2012 - Kuwait fence players win first place and three golden medals in Sabre, epee and foil category during the first west Asian championship in Kuwait.
2014 - Kuwait wheelchair basketball team win the first west Asian championship in Dubai after defeating Iraq 43-42.
2014 -- Kuwaiti media figure - turned philanthropist - and Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Barjas Al-Barjas, passes away.
2018-- Kuwait's non-Permanent member at the Security Council submitted a press release draft to conduct an independent transparent investigation on Gaza events but it have been rejected after one member objection. (end) aa
