1940 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed a law made up of 61 articles, which regulated travel on board ships and set criteria for the skipper.
1963 -- MP Mohammad Ahmad Al-Rushaid presented first parliamentary grilling motion in Kuwait's history, during the National Assembly first session of the first legislative term, against Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Abdullah Al-Roudhan. The motion was about distribution of 30 housing lots in Adailiya Area.
1967 -- Kuwait Government formed committees in all state institutes, headed by ministers, to collect donations from civil servants to aid the Palestinian people against zionist aggression.
1982 -- Kuwaiti diplomat Mustafa Mohammad Al-Marzoug, was assassinated in New Delhi by the Palestinian faction known as the 'Abu Nidhal Group. The Al-Marzouq, who began working as a diplomat in India in 1964, was shot by four bullets.
1989 -- Kuwaiti citizen Fawzi Abdulrasool Al-Mjadi was killed during a commando operation against Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank city of Nablus. The body of the 28-year-old's martyr was brought back from Israel as part of prisoners' exchange and was finally buried in Kuwait on July 23, 2008.
2005 -- Kuwait National Petroleum Company signed a contract worth KD 27.7 million selling 40 fuel stations to the First Fuel Marketing Company (Al-Oula).
2008 -- Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) began free gas production from northern Kuwait, marking the start of gas production which reached 50 million cubic feet.
2012 -- Surgeons from Canada and Kuwait at Ibn Sina Hospital removed a brain tumor from a fully conscience patient, the first in the State of Kuwait.
2013 - Kuwait women football team took part in the Asian Cup qualifiers for the first time.
2014 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a KD-nine-million loan agreement to finance expansion of a college in China.
2015 -- Ministry of Information shut down and canceled transmission permit of Al-Watan TV due to violations of audio-visual law.
2018 - Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) elected Kuwait as Vice President.
2021 - Kuwaiti shooters Mansour Al-Rasheedi and Abdullah Al-Rasheedi won silver and bronze medals in Arab's Shooting Grand Prix in Egypt.
2022 -- Kuwait National Seismic Network registered a five-degree earthquake southwest Ahmadi Area. (end) bs
