1971 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signed a decree, establishing the medical aid fund, affiliated to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
1973 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signed a decree, forming the National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters, to boost the cultural sector and preserve the national heritage.
1974 -- Kuwait Deputy Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah proclaimed a law for re-regulating Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development with objective of assisting Arab and developing countries to boost their economies through loans.
1977 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signed a decree affiliating the directorate general of Al-Shuaiba zone with the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
1990 -- With illicit intention to create a dispute, Iraqi regime President Saddam Hussein claimed that Kuwait and the UAE have increased their oil production to push crude prices down. He threatened to "resort to force" to stop this alleged act.
1999 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah inaugurated the first session of the 9th legislative term of the National Assembly. Jassem Mohammad Al-Kharafi was elected speaker and Meshari Al-Anjeri as his deputy.
2002 -- State of Kuwait ranked top among Arab states with respect of human development, according to a UN report.
2006 -- The National Assembly approved a bill slashing number of electoral constituencies to five from 25. The bill received blessing from 60 members while two opposed it.
2006 -- The National Assembly approved a bill to suspend deduction of part of the retirees' pension, retroactive June 26, 2005.
2008 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a law granting 50 Kuwaiti Dinars (KD) in financial allotment to all civil servants and private sector employees whose monthly salary below KD 1,000.
2011 -- Kuwaiti and American military forces held a drill designed to use tactics to defend the State of Kuwait.
2023 -- Abdulkareem Sulaiman Al-Ghadhban, former Assistant Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters for Islamic Antiquities, passed away at age of 63. (end) bs
