A - The Board of Directors:

This consists of KUNA's Director General as the Chairman of the Board and four members appointed by theCabinet on the basis of nomination by the Minister of Information. The Board of Directors is the highest authority in the agency which is responsible for defining the media strategy for the agency to follow in order to achieve the goals for which it was established.

- Mr. Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas was Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General from the establishment of the agency in 1976 until 1992.

- In 21st January 1992, an Amiri Decree was issued appointing Mr. Yusuf Mohammad Al-Sumait Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the agency. He continued in his position until 1998 when an Amiri Decree was issued appointing him Minister of Information.

- On 19th August 1998 an Amiri Decree was issued appointing Mr. Mohammad Ahmad Al-Ajeery as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Agency.

- On 27th May 2006 an Amiri Decree was issued appointing Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij AL-Sabah as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Agency.

- An Amiri Decree was issued renewing the appointment of Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Sabah as the Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency, with top degree, for a four-year term effective August 18, 2010. 

- An Amiri Decree was also issued renewing the appointment of Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Sabah as the Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency, with top degree, for a four-year term effective August 18, 2014.

- An Amiri Decree was signed on November 9, 2022 appointing Dr. Fatma Saud Abdulaziz Al-Salem as Director General with the rank of Undersecretary
