MADRID, March 2 (KUNA) -- Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez strongly condemned the attacks launched by Iran on several countries in the region, calling for an immediate halt to what he described as a "spiral of violence" and a return to diplomacy and dialogue.
In a post on X on Monday, Sanchez said, "We condemn all illegal and indiscriminate attacks targeting Gulf Cooperation Council countries and other states in the region." He also condemned rocket launches by Hezbollah and the Israeli occupation's attack on Lebanon.
He added that the Iranian attacks targeted Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, the occupied territories, Jordan and Oman.
Sanchez stressed that "violence only begets more violence," warning that bombs do not only strike military targets but also hit streets, airports, schools and the homes of innocent civilians.
He called on all parties to immediately stop the escalation and return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue amid rising tensions threatening the region's security and stability. (end) hnd.aa
