TUNIS, March 2 (KUNA) -- The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), in cooperation with the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), on Monday announced opening nominations for the 19th edition of the Ibn Khaldun-Senghor Translation Prize for 2026.
ALECSO said in a statement that the prize honors outstanding translations from Arabic into French or from French into Arabic in literature and the humanities and social sciences. The deadline for submissions is June 30.
Nominations are open to translators, universities, higher education institutes, research centers, associations and publishing houses in Arab and Francophone countries. The submitted work must be a first-time translation of an original text published within the past three years.
The prize, established in 2007 as a joint initiative between ALECSO and OIF to promote Arab-Francophone cultural exchange, carries an award of approximately USD 10,000. (end) sbm.fla.seo
