RIYADH, March 2 (KUNA) -- The Saudi Ministry of Energy announced that certain operational units at the Ras Tanura oil refinery have been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure, without affecting petroleum and petroleum product supplies to local markets.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), a source at the Ministry of Energy stated that at 7:04 am on Monday, the Ras Tanura oil refinery sustained limited damage from falling debris resulting from the interception of two drones in the vicinity of the facility.
The incident led to a minor fire, which was immediately contained by emergency response teams. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
The source reaffirmed that some operational units at the refinery were halted as a precaution, stressing that domestic supplies of petroleum and its derivatives remain unaffected. (end)
