TEHRAN, March 2 (KUNA) -- Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani affirmed on Monday that his country would not negotiate with the US, holding Washington responsible for dragging the region into chaos.
Larijani wrote on his account on the X platform that "Donald Trump has dragged the region into chaos and is now concerned about further losses among US forces." US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Sunday that three US service members had been killed and five seriously wounded in what the Pentagon calls Operation Epic Fury.
Regional media had earlier quoted the US newspaper The Wall Street Journal as reporting on an initiative by Larijani to resume talks with Washington through mediators from the Sultanate of Oman.
The capital Tehran and other Iranian cities have been subjected since Saturday morning to a wide-scale military attack by the Israeli occupation and the United States, which reportedly resulted in the killing of several senior Iranian leaders. (end) mw.ahm
