KUWAIT, March 1 (KUNA) -- Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Eng. Fatima Hayat announced Sunday that several overhead lines in the southern region and along the Sixth Ring Road went out of service after shrapnel fell during interception of drones.
She said the incident caused a temporary disturbance in the power grid and partial outages in scattered areas.
Emergency teams immediately began assessing damage and carrying out repairs to restore electricity to affected areas as swiftly as possible, in line with approved safety and technical standards.
Hayat affirmed that the electricity and water situation remains under control, with power generation, water desalination and transmission systems operating efficiently, alongside round-the-clock monitoring to ensure service stability.
The ministry urged citizens and residents to obtain information from official sources only, affirming it will provide updates as they arise. (end) aai
