1923 -- The writer and traveler Amin Al-Rihani visited Kuwait where he is hosted by the Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. His book "molook alarab" chronicles the literary-cultural renaissance in the country.
1959 -- A law for licensing collection of funds for public purposes went into effect. The law was issued by the head of the publishing department, social affairs and labor, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
1964 -- The Hunting and Equestrian Club was proclaimed.
1973 -- Kuwait signed the Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter (1972), also called the London Convention.
1979 -- Kuwait's three towers inaugurated on the Arabian Gulf Road, one depicting a censer, the other a sprinkler and the third kohl jar.
1981 -- The Public Institution for Social Security began applying insurance for old age, inability and illness cases.
1982 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber A-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a decree-into-law, approving the constitution of UNIDO, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, which aimed to boost industrial development in developing countries.
1991 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a decree whereby establishing a supreme committee for working out a strategy for preserving the state security and sanctity. It was formed after liberating Kuwait from the Iraqi aggression, on February 26, 1991.
1991 -- The first shipment of petroleum derivatives and liquefied gas was imported by land following the State of Kuwait's liberation from Iraq' invasion and occupation.
1998 -- Kuwait University rector Dr. Fayza Al-Kharafi was elected board member of the UN University.
2002 -- The first mayor of Failaka island, Abdulqader Al-Sarhan, died at age of 88. The deceased was named mayor in 1962 and worked as an Imam, teacher and judge.
2003 -- Vanguards of the "Peninsula Shield" forces arrived in Kuwait to defense the country in the face of the threats by the Iraqi regime.
2005 -- Microsoft technology support center opened at the Ministry of Planning with the objective of providing technical support for 54 government departments.
2015 -- "Al-Majlis" television channel of the National Assembly was officially launched.
2016 -- ALESCO, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, designated the head of Abdulaziz Al-Babtain Foundation, Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, as ambassador of good will.
2016 -- Kuwait National Assembly approved allocating KD 150 million from the public reserves to pay downpayment for Eurofighter jets.
2017 -- Jet ski champion Yusuf Al-Abdulrazzaq entered Guinness for winning the world tournament for three years.
2021 -- Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a decision establishing the Kuwaiti Consumer Protection Association. (end) bs
