CAIRO, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatti affirmed on Friday his country's opposition to any attempts aiming to undermine Sudan's unity, underlining the necessity of maintaining the sovereignty of the Sudanese state.
This was announced during a telephone call conducted between Abdelatti and Senior Advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump on Arab, Middle Eastern, and African affairs Massad Boulos, as part of continued consultation and coordination with the US, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The call dealt with the situations in Sudan and means of backing efforts aiming to restore stability in the country, it added.
Egypt's top diplomat briefed Boulos on the Egyptian efforts on both regional and international levels to support Sudan, it noted.
Meanwhile, Boulos expressed appreciation to the efforts exerted by Egypt to deal with Sudan's crisis.
He emphasized the keenness of the US on continuing consultation and coordination with Egypt in a manner that backs truce efforts and boosts the opportunity to reach a political and sustainable settlement in Sudan, according to the statement. (end) asm.maa.hm
