MOSCOW, Feb 24 (KUNA) -- Russia on Tuesday accused Britain and France of planning to supply Ukraine with nuclear weapons, saying it would factor the information into any future negotiations on the Ukraine crisis.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow would take into account intelligence reports alleging London and Paris intend to transfer nuclear-related equipment and technology to Kyiv during talks on Ukraine.
He warned such steps would threaten the nuclear non-proliferation regime and constitute a blatant violation of international law.
Peskov expressed hope for a peaceful settlement, saying progress depends on Ukraine's actions, while noting Russia's military operation has not yet achieved all its objectives.
Earlier, Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service alleged Britain and France were considering supplying Ukraine with nuclear-related components, including a small nuclear warhead.
Russia's Federation Council urged the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency to investigate the claims, warning of escalation risks. Britain and France have not issued immediate comments. (end)
