AMMAN, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reaffirmed the Kingdom's firm position in support of Kuwait's sovereignty over all its territories and maritime areas, as well as its unity and territorial integrity.
In a press statement on Monday, the ministry's official spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah said the ministry is closely following the repercussions of Iraq's submission to the UN of lists of geographical coordinates and a map related to the maritime areas between Iraq and Kuwait.
Al-Qudah stressed the need to respect international law and the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as well as the relevant agreements signed between the two brotherly countries.
He underscored the importance of prioritizing dialogue and resolving any disputes based on international law, respect for state sovereignty and the principles of good neighborliness, in a manner that strengthens fraternal relations between the two nations and preserves their mutual interests, while contributing to security and stability in the region.
