TEHRAN, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry on Monday denied reports of an interim agreement with the United States in ongoing indirect nuclear negotiations.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said during his weekly briefing that speculation about a temporary deal was unfounded and not supported by Tehran.
He added that talks are currently in the drafting stage, stressing Iran's clear position on lifting sanctions and addressing nuclear-related issues.
Baghaei expressed hope that another round of negotiations could be held within the next two or three days, noting that Iran is fully aware of the US position.
He said a positive outcome would depend on goodwill and seriousness from both sides.
A news website quoted a senior US official as saying Washington is ready for another round of talks in Geneva if it receives a detailed Iranian proposal within 48 hours.
Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi said Sunday that US-Iran talks would resume in Geneva next Thursday, citing positive momentum toward reaching an agreement. (end) mw.aai
