KUWAIT, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Airways announced Wednesday the launch of its first scheduled commercial flights to the Russian capital, Moscow, operating three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays starting March 16.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Abdulwahab Al-Shatti said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that bookings for Moscow flights will open tomorrow, Thursday, at 12:00 p.m., noting the service comes as part of the national carrier's strategy to meet growing travel demand between Kuwait and Russia.
He added that introducing Moscow as a new destination reflects Kuwait Airways' commitment to expanding its route network through a carefully studied approach, thereby reinforcing Kuwait's position as a regional aviation hub and offering broader travel options for tourism and business purposes alike.
Al-Shatti pointed out that the airline seeks to diversify its destinations and address increasing demand during the upcoming summer season, in line with its growth and expansion plans and efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
He affirmed that passenger comfort remains a top priority for Kuwait Airways, highlighting its modern fleet equipped with advanced in-flight entertainment systems, diverse meal options catering to various tastes, and highly trained cabin crews dedicated to delivering superior service from boarding through arrival.
Founded in 1953 as Kuwait National Airways Limited, Kuwait Airways began operations on March 16, 1954, and became wholly owned by the Government of Kuwait in 1962. (end) md.aai
