KUWAIT, Feb 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Humanitarian Action Society announced the launch of its Ramadan charity projects for this year in Kuwait and several other countries as part of its humanitarian and social role.
Speaking to KUNA Tuesday, Secretary General Khaled Al-Kandari said the Ramadan program includes iftar meals, Zakat Al-Fitr and Eid clothing, both inside and outside Kuwait, to support families in need and strengthen social solidarity.
The society is also continuing mosque and Islamic center construction projects abroad, including the Saga Mosque project in Japan, a mosque and center in Pavia, Italy, and the purchase of a property to be converted into a mosque in Middlesbrough, England, he mentioned.
The Ramadan plan includes endowment, outreach and humanitarian initiatives such as the Comprehensive Endowment project, Mafhas Al-Qatah project and the 10 by 10 charity project, as well as a small projects program aimed at economically empowering low-income families, Al-Kandari added.
The plan also covers outreach projects in Japan and the Amazon rainforest, and specialized humanitarian programs including the Eye Life project for sight-restoring surgeries, he explained.
He noted the society's focus on reaching the most needy areas and expanding Kuwait's charitable work worldwide. (end)
