KUWAIT, Feb 13 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's embassies in Japan, Consulate General in Milan, along with its Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, celebrated the 65th National Day and 35th Liberation Day with official receptions attended by senior officials, diplomats and public figures.
In Tokyo, Kuwait's embassy hosted a reception attended by Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ayano Kunimitsu, senior officials and diplomats.
Ambassador to Japan Sami Al-Zamanan extended heartfelt congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as well as the wise government and Kuwaiti people.
Al-Zamanan highlighted the strength of bilateral ties and the elevation of relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership following high-level visits in 2025, marking 65 years since diplomatic relations were established in 1961.
He also commended Kuwait's participation in Expo Osaka last year, where the Kuwaiti pavilion showcased cultural and heritage identity in an innovative and interactive way, that was widely received by Japanese and international visitors.
In New York, Kuwait's Permanent Mission to the UN hosted a reception attended by senior UN officials and diplomats, reflecting Kuwait's active role in multilateral diplomacy and its commitment to the UN Charter, international peace and cooperation.
In Milan, Kuwait's Consul General in Milan and Northern Italy, Sheikh Jaber Duaij Al-Malik Al-Sabah, conveyed heartfelt congratulations to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti people on the occasion of the national celebrations.
In a speech marking the event, Sheikh Jaber affirmed the depth of bilateral relations between Kuwait and Italy, emphasizing their steady growth across political, economic and cultural fields.
He praised the level of coordination and cooperation between the two friendly countries and their shared commitment to further advancing ties in a manner that serves mutual interests.
