IRBIL, Feb 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq Mohammad Al-Zaman met on Thursday with Iraq's Kurdistan officials on means to further bolster historical bilateral relations, along with several other affairs.
In a press release, the Kurdistan Democratic Party said that the Kuwaiti ambassador met with the party leader Masoud Barzani, conveying the greeting of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to him.
The ambassador underlined firm historical relations and fraternal bonds between both Kuwaiti and Kurdistan peoples, lauding Kurdistan people's struggle for freedom.
For his part, Barzani asked Al-Zaman to convey his greetings to His Highness the Amir and the Kuwaiti people, calling for deepening brotherly relations and promoting bilateral cooperation across various fields.
During the meeting, they also explored the current circumstances, challenges and threats the region is facing, and highlighted the latest political developments in Iraq and Kurdistan. (end)
