WASHINGTON, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Embassy in the United States held on Wednesday a reception marking the 65th Independence Day and the 35th Liberation Day.
Speaking to KUNA in a statement, Kuwait Ambassador to the US Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah extended sincere and great congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people.
She affirmed Kuwait's pride for deep-rooted strategic relations between the US and Kuwait, referring that this occasion coincides with the 35th anniversary of the operations of the US-led international coalition launched to liberate Kuwait.
Sheikha Al-Zain underlined the importance of culture and heritage in cementing understanding and friendship among nations.
She pointed to Kuwaiti Sadu House's participation this year in preparing for opening the Sadu exhibition in a way that shows Kuwait's cultural identity richness and enhances the country's civilized presence in the US.
The event featured some senior officials in the US Administration, diplomatic corps members and several dignitaries. (end)
