BEIJING, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- The Embassy of in China held a reception Wednesday marking the 65th National Day and the 35th Liberation Day, in the presence of Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu, senior officials and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Beijing.
Kuwait's Ambassador to China Jassem Al-Najem extended his highest congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people.
In a speech, Ambassador Al-Najem highlighted the depth of historic bilateral relations between Kuwait and China, noting that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
He said that since the inception of relations, the two countries have enjoyed deep-rooted friendship and steady development in cooperation, achieving tangible progress across political, economic, trade, energy and cultural fields.
He reaffirmed Kuwait's commitment to its strategic partnership with China and to advancing cooperation in ways that serve mutual interests and shared benefits.
The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters participated in the event with paintings and sculptures by Kuwaiti artists, in addition to a musical ensemble that performed Kuwaiti and Chinese melodies, drawing praise from attendees. (end) aai
