CAIRO, Feb 11 (KUNA) - The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Egypt and its Mission to the Arab League held a reception to mark the 65th National Day and the 35th Liberation Day of Kuwait, attended by Egyptian ministers, senior officials, and Arab and foreign ambassadors.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ghanim Al-Ghanim, said that celebrating the 65th National Day and the 35th Liberation Day reflects the ongoing journey of the Kuwaiti nation.
Al-Ghanim noted that the presence of the attendees at the event reflects the depth of relations and strong bonds of brotherhood between the two friendly countries, underscored that Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations are historical and distinguished. Recent high-level reciprocal visits have demonstrated both leaderships' keenness to strengthen bilateral relations and advance them towards broader horizons, he added.
Al-Ghanim reaffirmed Kuwait's firm position supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and praised Egypt's role in facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Al-Ghanim extended his thanks and appreciation to the attendees and wished continued security, stability and prosperity for Kuwait and Egypt under their wise leaderships. Speaking on behalf of Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Dr. Sherif Farouk extended Egypt's congratulations to the State of Kuwait - leadership, government, and people - on the 65th National Day and the 35th Liberation Day. He highlighted Egypt's pride in its brotherly and historically deep-rooted relations with Kuwait, based on mutual respect, Arab solidarity, and shared positions, adding that the relations have witnessed fruitful cooperation in various political, economic, and developmental fields. Farouk said Kuwaiti-Egyptian relationship as a model for Arab cooperation, emphasizing their deep economic ties, noting that Kuwait remains one of Egypt's largest investors.
He noted that the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade is keen to deepen cooperation with Kuwait, particularly in areas of food security, supply chains, strategic storage, internal trade, and exchange of expertise. Farouk praised Kuwait's tangible developmental and economic achievements and its pivotal and active role at regional and international levels, as well as its efforts in supporting joint Arab action and advancing security, stability, and development in the region.
He extended sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince, and to His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and to people of Kuwait, wishing them continued progress and prosperity. For his part, head of the Egyptian Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee Sameh Shoukry called Kuwait's national celebrations "dear to all Egyptians," expressing pride in the bilaterial ties.
He praised Kuwait's leadership great efforts in promoting Arab solidarity and strengthening Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations, reflecting the deep bilateral ties. Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber extended his congratulations to the Kuwaiti people on the national occasions, wishing Kuwait continued stability and progress. Meanwhile, Secretary General of Egypt's Senate Dr. Ahmad Abdel-Ghani described the Egyptian-Kuwaiti ties as historic, rooted in mutual trust. He congratulated Kuwait's leadership, government and people on the national celebrations, wishing the country lasting security, stability and prosperity, stressing Egypt's keenness to further strengthen the strategic relationship. Egyptian MP Dr. Mohammad Ali also expressed his pleasure at taking part in the celebrations, noting that the wide participation reflects Kuwait's distinguished standing and pivotal role in supporting Arab causes.
He underlined Egypt's constant keenness to expand cooperation with Kuwait across various fields in a way that serves the interests of both peoples and bolsters joint Arab action.
