RIYADH, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Members of the Executive Council of the GCC Customs Union Authority held their 16th meeting Tuesday in Riyadh, attended by Director General of Kuwait's General Administration of Customs Yousef Al-Nuwaif, to discuss union implementation progress.
The meeting reviewed executive steps required to implement the Supreme Council decision at its 46th session on completing requirements of the GCC Customs Union and enhancing joint Gulf customs cooperation across member states effectively further.
Members were briefed on updates from technical committees studying solutions to challenges facing the Customs Union, and reviewed progress in the customs data exchange platform project and related technical initiatives and ongoing operational activities overall.
The council also reviewed the Authority participation in the 2026 WCO Technology Conference and Exhibition hosted by Abu Dhabi from January 28 to 30, aimed at expanding partnerships and supporting completion of the Customs Union. (end) kns.ahm
