Kuwait, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Embassies of Kuwait in Algeria, Ireland, Malta and Mexico celebrated the 65th anniversary of Kuwait's National Day and the 35th anniversary of Liberation Day, with the participation of ministers, officials, heads of diplomatic missions, media representatives and members of civil society.
In Algeria, the Kuwaiti Embassy held a celebration at its headquarters attended by Algerian Minister of Finance Abdelkrim Bouzred, former ministers, senior officers from the Ministry of Defense, political and cultural figures, members of the Algerian parliament, as well as a number of accredited ambassadors.
On the occasion, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the Kuwaiti Embassy Khaled Al-Zeer told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that he extended his congratulations and best wishes to His Highness the Amir of Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and to the government and people of Kuwait, wishing continued security and stability upon the country.
Al-Zeer praised the strength and depth of the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, describing them as "exceptional." He affirmed Kuwait's keenness to further consolidate its partnership with Algeria, enhance historic ties and work jointly toward a future of growth and prosperity.
He added that significant historical milestones have strengthened security, judicial and political coordination, laid solid foundations for cooperation, and opened broad horizons for investment and economic collaboration, expressing hope that the upcoming session of the Joint Higher Committee would further advance cooperation in the interest of both nations.
The Embassy of Kuwait in Ireland held a reception to mark Kuwait's National Day, attended by senior officials, prominent figures, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Irish capital.
On this occasion, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Ireland Mohammad Al-Mohammad extended his highest congratulations and blessings to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
He also conveyed his greetings to the government and people of Kuwait, praying for continued security, prosperity, and well-being for the nation.
In Malta, Kuwait's Ambassador to Malta Meshal Al-Mudhaf hosted the annual reception to mark the occasion, attended by a large number of prominent figures.
This included Malta's President Dr. Myriam Spiteri Debono, senior government officials, representatives of economic, cultural and media bodies, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Malta, as well as Maltese public figures and Kuwaiti students at the University of Malta.
In her speech, the president conveyed her congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, commending the unique historical ties between the two countries.
She went on to say Malta's stance at the United Nations during Iraq's 1990 invasion of Kuwait left a lasting positive mark on bilateral relations, and noted progress in exploring new areas of cooperation.
She also highlighted cooperation in education, saying the large number of Kuwaiti students at the University of Malta shows how relations can grow.
In his remarks, Al-Mudhaf extended greetings and congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people, underscoring the depth of Kuwait-Malta ties and their continued growth.
Kuwait will not forget Malta's historic position during the 1990 invasion, he said, and noted ongoing efforts to expand cooperation, particularly in education.
He also pointed to efforts to strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, citing the interest of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company (KFMB) in expanding commercial ties with Malta.
Kuwait's embassy in Mexico held its annual celebration marking the National Day and Liberation Day anniversaries, attended by senior Mexican officials, members of Congress, accredited diplomats, business leaders, media figures and prominent members of Mexican society.
On this occasion, Kuwait's Ambassador to Mexico Saleh Al-Hadad extended his congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, wishing Kuwait continued security, stability and prosperity under their wise leadership.
Al-Hadad highlighted Kuwait's comprehensive development under their leadership, underscoring Kuwait Vision 2035 and the opportunities it offers to bolster economic and investment cooperation with Mexico.
He also praised the Kuwaiti-Mexican bilateral ties, noting the marked progress achieved in recent years across various fields.
