KUWAIT, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Health Minister Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi praised late Monday the Middle East International Invention Exhibition as a scientific platform that reflects Kuwait's image and its growing presence on the global innovation map.
He said innovation is not limited to one field, pointing to rapid daily advances in medicine through new treatment technologies and devices, which highlight the vital roles of medicine, engineering and other sciences in serving humanity.
Al-Awadhi stressed the country's full support for initiatives that showcase national talents and place Kuwait among advanced countries in innovation.
In similar remarks, Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Affairs Minister Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah said the event has become a landmark that underscores civil society's vital role in development and demonstrates strong integration with government efforts to support inventors.
She expressed pride in the exhibition's growth from a local event to an international platform with global standards, recalling her experience as a judge a decade ago.
She noted that many that many Kuwait Science Club alumni now hold leadership roles, emphasizing the need to invest in youth creativity to thrive in a global innovation-based economy.
She also thanked Dr. Al-Awadhi and Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) Director General Dr. Ameenah Farhan for attending and supporting the event, describing their presence as a reflection of teamwork across sectors.
For her part, Farhan praised the exhibition's global standing, noting that modern success depends on "innovation and invention" in work and performance.
She praised the exhibition's expert national jurors, noting that the judging process itself drives education, culture, and higher productivity.
Farhan congratulated the Kuwait Science Club, calling the successful event the result of years of hard work and experience. The statements came during the inspection visit by Dr. Al-Awadhi, Dr. Al-Huwailah and Dr. Farhan to the 16th Middle East International Invention Exhibition, held under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
They were received by Kuwait Science Club Chairman and head of the exhibition's supreme committee Talal Al-Kharafi and toured participating pavilions and the jury committee.
Welcoming the visit, Al-Kharafi noted that the exhibition's broad participation from over 30 countries highlights the vital role of civil society and volunteer work in supporting state efforts.
He added that the event's ongoing success demonstrates Kuwaitis potential and ability to compete globally, attributing its standing to a distinguished jury of top academics and experts.
