RIYADH, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Qatar, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt and Turkiye strongly condemned Israeli occupation decisions aimed at imposing unlawful sovereignty, expanding settlement activity and creating a new legal and administrative reality in the occupied West Bank.
In a joint statement on Monday, the eight countries warned that such actions accelerate illegal annexation attempts and the displacement of the Palestinian people.
They warned that the continuation of Israel's expansionist policies and unlawful practices in the occupied West Bank would further inflame violence and instability in the region.
The statement expressed their outright rejection of these measures, describing them as a flagrant violation of international law, a serious undermining of the two-state solution, and an assault on the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent, sovereign state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
They added that such actions also weaken ongoing efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
The statement stressed that Israel's illegal measures in the occupied West Bank are null and void and constitute a clear breach of UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli actions aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
The statement followed approval by Israel's political and security cabinet on Sunday of several decisions aimed at changing the judicial and civil reality and deepening Israeli control in the West Bank. (end)
