RIYADH, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Al-Budaiwi, stated on Sunday that the second edition of the Eastern Region Roads and Transport Forum 2026 embodies Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure and improve the quality of services.
The GCC General Secretariat noted that this statement was made during Al-Budaiwi's participation in the Forum, which was held in Dammam and attended by leading decision-makers, industry leaders, and local and international experts.
The forum, themed "Moving Steadily Towards a Future that Aligns with Our Vision", was organized by the Gulf Road and Transport Engineering Society in partnership with the Sharqia Development Authority and the Eastern Province Municipality.
Al-Budaiwi commended the organizers' efforts and the workshops and joint activities between the public and private sectors, which will contribute to finding innovative solutions and improving the efficiency of services within the transportation system.
He pointed out that the GCC countries place great importance on transportation and its development, placing them among the world's leading nations in their transportation systems across all modes. (end)
