NEW DELHI, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- Indian defense authorities announced on Friday that they have successfully test-fired intermediate range ballistic missile "Agni-3".
The intermediate range ballistic missile "Agni-3" was successfully test-fired from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur located in the eastern Indian state of Odisha, a statement from the Indian Ministry of Defense said.
"The launch validated all operational and technical parameters. It was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command," which is India's Nuclear Command Authority, the statement added.
India has been engaged for decades in an arms race with its rivals China and Pakistan as New Delhi conducts periodic testing of missiles developed to strengthen its arsenal against any possible enemy attacks of its cities. (end) atk.mt
