KUWAIT, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Health Minister Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi said Friday that investment in human element is deemed the core pillar of any sustainable health development by empowering doctors and specialists and keeping them posted on global protocols.
The minister made the remarks in a keynote speech addressing the three-day 25th Kuwait Conference of Ophthalmology, held in collaboration with several Kuwaiti medical and scientific institutions.
He added that the fact that this conference has been held for 25 years reflects the Health Ministry's relentless strategic vision for supporting medical specializations, and affirms its unwavering commitment to building an integrated health system based on knowledge, scientific research and continued training.
The minister underlined that the ministry's great importance to the field of ophthalmology has contributed to expanding treatment services and surgical operations nationwide.
He added that the ministry is eager to attract a select group of international experts to participate in performing delicate and complex surgeries and training national staff on state-of-the-art surgical techniques.
He commended such specialized scientific conferences as marking a strategic platform for sharing expertise, integrating views and turning scientific output into health programs and applicable executive programs that lead to better health services.
The three-day 25th Kuwait Conference of Ophthalmology hosts top-notch speakers, practicing professionals, and academic researchers from all over the region and beyond to discuss the latest developments in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of eye diseases.
