TEHRAN, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- Iran's Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council for Foreign Policy, Ali Bagheri, on Monday affirmed that enriched nuclear material "will not be" transferred to any other country.
The Iranian Tasnim News Agency quoted Bagheri as saying that Iranian officials have no intention to transfer enriched nuclear material abroad and that the ongoing negotiations do not address this issue.
Separately, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei said in his weekly press briefing that various studies and assessments are being conducted on the multiple dimensions of the negotiations.
Baqaei added that regional countries concerned about the current situation are making sincere efforts to play a positive role as mediators in conveying messages, in contrast to European countries, which have moved in a direction that escalates tensions.
Earlier, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi told Western media that Iran possesses more than 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent purity.
Meanwhile, Russian Presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, according to RIA Novosti, said that Moscow has offered its services to transfer Iran's excess enriched uranium. (end) mw.aa
