KUWAIT, Feb 2 (KUNA) - The Ministry of Interior on Monday affirmed its commitment to boost partnerships with the private sector and provide a regulatory environment to develop the delivery services market in Kuwait.
The remarks came from Assistant Director-General for Coordination and Education Affairs at the General Traffic Department, Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Khaled Al-Adwani, during a press conference for the National Forum on Transport and Smart Services.
The forum will begin on Tuesday with the participation of representatives from government entities, delivery and transport companies, smart mobility technology providers, academics and researchers in public transport and delivery services, as well as a specialized delegation from the UAE.
He noted that the General Traffic Department has adopted an integrated institutional approach to enhancing road safety for over a decade, with direct support from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. The department continuously updates its strategies to align with current requirements and the rapid expansion of sectors related to transportation and consumer delivery services.
The forum aims to bring together owners of delivery and transport companies within a unified government platform to support these businesses, facilitate coordination, integrate data, simplify procedures for investors, and raise awareness of regulations governing the sector, thereby attracting investment to the Kuwaiti market.
Representatives of delivery and transport companies stressed their commitment to enhancing partnership with government entities and developing smart technologies to advance these sectors within an organized and sustainable framework.
They highly praised the efforts of the General Traffic Department in involving the private sector in crafting practical solutions, providing a flexible regulatory environment that supports innovation, ensures traffic safety, and contributes to operational efficiency and service quality.
Participants expressed hope that the forum would produce practical, actionable recommendations supporting the Kuwait 2035 vision and contribute to the development of a smart, safe, and sustainable transport system reflecting a successful national experience in the sector. (end) ajr.aa
