KUWAIT, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- The KUNA media development center and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) on Sunday launched a training program titled "uses of Artificial Intelligence in news writing and purposeful media content production."
The program is being held with the participation of staff members from Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) and ICESCO and represents the outcome of cooperation between the two sides.
Director of the Media and Communication Department at ICESCO Barakat Al-Wuqayan said in a statement to KUNA that the partnership with KUNA is of particular importance, given the agency's longstanding position as one of the oldest news agencies in the Gulf region.
He described the cooperation as a significant gain, noting that Kuwait is the second-largest contributing member of ICESCO, which comprises 53 member states.
Al-Wuqayan commended the efforts of ICESCO Director-General Dr. Salem Al-Malik and Acting Director-General of KUNA Mohammad Al-Manai in strengthening cooperation between the organization and the agency.
For his part, Head of the KUNA Media Development Center Thamer Al-Furaih said KUNA is keen to establish partnerships with regional and international organizations, particularly ICESCO, to enhance its media mission and keep pace with rapid technological developments.
He noted that cooperation with ICESCO supports the exchange of expertise, the development of media performance, and the enhancement of human capital efficiency.
Al-Furaih added that the program, which runs until February 5, focuses on leveraging advances in artificial intelligence and new media concepts to raise technical and professional awareness. (end)
