KUWAIT, Jan 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait University (KU) hosted a high-level delegation from Google on Thursday as part of a strategic dialogue to explore potential cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital education platforms in higher education.
In a press release, KU said the meeting discussed rapid changes in higher education in the digital era and the growing role of AI and digital platforms in improving teaching, strengthening research, and boosting institutional efficiency to enhance academic outcomes and deliver an advanced learning experience aligned with best global practices.
Both sides underlined the importance of responsible and ethical use of these technologies in line with academic values and university regulations, and agreed to continue coordination to identify future cooperation areas that support national development and strengthen the university's regional and international standing.
The meeting is a key step toward building a future strategic partnership to support KU's digital transformation and enable its academic and administrative staff to benefit from leading global technology solutions, improving student experience and the quality of higher education and research, the statement said.
The meeting, held at Sabah Al-Salem University City, was chaired by KU President Dr. Dina Al-Mailam.
Google's delegation was headed by Director for Google for Education in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) Colin Marson, along with General Manager of Google Cloud in Kuwait Shaimaa Al-Terkait. (end)
