MOSCOW, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- The Kremlin said on Wednesday that Russian-Syrian relations are developing actively on various levels, amid ongoing political contacts between the two countries' leaderships and discussions on issues of mutual interest.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a press statement that Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks at the Kremlin with Syria's Transitional President Ahmad Al-Sharaa, who has arrived in Moscow.
The talks will cover prospects for cooperation and an exchange of views on regional developments, he said.
The agenda includes issues related to the presence of Russian armed forces in Syria, as well as the overall situation in the Middle East, Peskov added.
Separately, the Kremlin said Putin will hold talks on Thursday with UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan during an official visit to Russia, focusing on key areas of Russian-UAE cooperation and regional issues, including the current situation in the Middle East.
