KUWAIT, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi on Wednesday inaugurated a newly renovated surgical wing at Amiri Hospital as part of the ministry's strategy to rehabilitate hospital wards and enhance surgical services.
In a press statement, Dr. Al-Awadhi said this is the second surgical wing to be reopened at the hospital within two weeks following comprehensive refurbishment, strengthening the healthcare system's capacity to serve patients.
He explained that the two wings together provide a total of 60 beds, including 20 private rooms and 40 general rooms, medication rooms, and administrative offices, all equipped with the latest medical technology.
The minister added that the Ministry of Health's 2026 plan includes developing healthcare services across Kuwait, alongside attracting visiting physicians from around the world.
He also highlighted the ministry's strong support for national medical staff who have achieved international recognition in advanced and complex surgeries, including robotic procedures, organ and kidney transplants, and open-heart surgeries.
The first renovated surgical wing at Amiri Hospital was opened last week, with the second inaugurated on Wednesday, reflecting the ministry's commitment to providing advanced and integrated medical care. (end)
