KUWAIT, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- An oil and gas conference slated for next week in Kuwait is tantamount to an effort to map out the future of the energy industry, the chief executive of state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) said on Tuesday.
The Kuwait Oil and Gas Show and Conference (KOGS), sponsored by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah will be an "exceptional" gathering of energy leaders and experts, at a time where global oil output has seen rapid transitions, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah told the press.
Citing the previous success of the event, he said that KPC and its affiliates are pushing forward with efforts aiming to solidify Kuwait's role as a "reliable and responsible" energy producer, added the official.
The high-level gathering will bring together a host of prominent energy leaders, chief among them Kuwait's Oil Minister Tareq Al-Roumi, in addition to representatives of some 54 local and international firms. (end)
