RIYADH, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi on Saturday welcomed the UAE's hosting of talks between Russia, Ukraine and the US in Abu Dhabi.
In a press statement, Al-Budaiwi underlined the UAE's valuable role in reaching a peaceful solution to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis through dialogue and constructive negotiations.
He restated that the GCC stance is based on the principle of international law, the UN Charter and on the protection of the international order built on respect for states' sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence, non-interference in internal affairs and non-use of force or threatening to use it.
The GCC chief hoped that these talks would contribute to achieving the aspired goals in a way that bolsters both sides' security and stability. (end) as.mt
