KUWAIT, Jan 21 (KUNA) -- Turkiye is pushing forward with plans to propel trade relations with Kuwait to greater levels, Ankara's ambassador to Kuwait Tuba Nur Sonmez said on Wednesday.
Kuwait's relations with Turkiye have made palpable progress in recent years, buoyed by the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kuwait last October, which came after His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's visit to Ankara, the diplomat said amid a gathering of a visiting delegation from Turkish business group Musiad.
Bilateral trade has surged to USD 1.08 billion in 2025, an increase of 0.25 percent as compared to the previous year, while Kuwaiti investments in Turkiye are worth nearly USD two billion, added the diplomat, hailing these statistics as a testament to "mutual trust." Hailing the scope of Musiad's business activities, its international organization commission chief Selim Sar said that the delegation's visit to Kuwait aims to explore business opportunities there.
