KUWAIT, Jan 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Fire Force announced that the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) awarded First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah the International Commander Rank; the organization's highest order.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Force said the order and a certificate of appreciation were presented by ICDO Secretary General Arguj Kalantarli in the presence of Fire Force Chief Major General Talal Al-Roumi.
The Secretary General said the honor reflects Kuwait's prestigious international standing in civil protection and civil defense.
He noted that the achievements of the Kuwait Fire Force, along with enhanced cooperation and bilateral projects with the ICDO, have helped strengthen this standing regionally and internationally.
He explained that the award recognizes Sheikh Fahad's leadership and his prominent efforts in supporting the civil protection system.
The honor also acknowledges his role in promoting security and safety concepts and boosting the readiness of state institutions to deal with emergencies and crises in accordance with the highest international standards. (end) ahk.aai
