MANAMA, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Ahmad Youssuf and Ahmad Abal-Qolub, of Kuwait, made outstanding achievements in the international races of the 11th Nasser bin Hamad Season for Falcons and Hunting competition.
Al-Youssuf led the Gyr Shaheen Qarnas race while Abal-Qolub won the Harrar Farrokh race, surpassing Saudi and Qatari competitors.
The competition, featuring nearly 250 birds and falconers from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries, was held at the Falcon Grounds, to the south of Bahrain International Endurance Village.
Mohammad Al-Marri, the chief organizer of the competition, commended, in press remarks following the event, the outstanding technical performance of participants.
He attributed the impressive presence of participants from across the Gulf region and beyond to the growing popularity of the traditional sport and heritage of the region. (end) kna.gb
